ABBIE & DAVID | THAINSTONE HOUSE | ABERDEEN | SCOTLAND

Updated: May 10, 2018

"If kisses were snowflakes, I’d send you a blizzard.”

Whilst some couples may have viewed the blizzard dubbed ‘The Beast from the East’ as a disaster, Abbie and David viewed it as an opportunity to get out and create some snow-covered, wedding memories.

The drive up to Thainstone House has never looked as breath-taking as when we arrived on the morning of David and Abbie’s wedding. Any worries we may have had about the weather dampening spirits on the day were quickly dismissed as we spotted the groom and his party out making a pretty epic snowman.

Meanwhile, upstairs, laughter could be heard ringing along the corridor as the bridal party enjoyed some pampering from Platinum Makeup by Julz and @Lianne Strachan hair.

Guest were welcomed into the stunning ceremony room, dressed by Aberdeen Wedding Shop and The Bespoke Backdrop Company by the vocal stylings of Myke Black. The ceremony, conducted by Neil Mellis, was full of sweet personal touches, laughter, and maybe even one or two tears. Then it was time for the newlyweds to don their wellies and have some fun in the snow.

Some photographers may have been reluctant to venture out given the weather conditions, but not Janie Barclay Photography She took full advantage of Mr and Mrs Ewan’s fun loving attitude, creating some once in a lifetime images for them to treasure forever. At one point, a full blown snowball war erupted, though whether it was the photographer or the ‘video-manny’ who started it remains up for debate
